How to Create a Google Shopping Campaign
A Google Shopping campaign shows your products - with images, prices, and your store name - right at the top of Google Search. This guide walks Mystore sellers through creating a Shopping campaign step by step. Before you begin, make sure your Google Merchant Center account is set up and approved, your product feed is uploaded, and your Merchant Center account is linked to Google Ads.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
In your Google Ads account, go to the Campaigns section and click the plus button to create a New campaign, then follow these steps.
- Choose your campaign objective. For a store, select Sales to drive purchases. Google will show your existing conversion goals, such as Purchases - make sure they look right.

- Under Select a campaign type, choose Shopping. You'll also see Performance Max, but for this guide we're building a standard Shopping campaign for more control. Confirm your Merchant Center account is selected and click Continue.

- Set your budget and choose your bid strategy. Options include Manual CPC (you set your own cost-per-click - a good starting point), Maximize clicks, Maximize conversions (optionally with a Target CPA), and Target ROAS - target return on ad spend, the most popular choice for stores. With Target ROAS you set the return you want and Google sets bids automatically. Note that automated strategies work best once your campaign has some conversion data.

- On the Campaign settings page, choose the Locations where your ads should show, such as your home country. Leave Local products off unless you sell in physical stores, and answer the required questions. Click Next.

- Create your first ad group and name it. Under Product groups, choose whether to advertise all products from your feed or a selection of products filtered by category, brand, or item ID. Make your selection and click Save.

- Review the summary - your campaign name, goal, Merchant Center account, budget, and bid strategy. When everything looks correct, click Publish campaign.

This is the final step. Your Google Shopping campaign is now live. It may take a little time for your products to start showing in ads while Google reviews them.
