Variants and Attributes

Variants and Attributes

This section is used when you want to offer multiple variations of the same product — for example, different sizes, colors, quantities, or packaging types. Each variation (also called a variant) can have its own specific details, pricing, and stock information.

Varients

1. Unit Count

  • The number of units being sold in this specific variant.
  • Example: If you're selling a pack of 3 t-shirts together, enter 3.
  • Purpose: Helps define the exact bundle or unit size the buyer is purchasing.

2. Images

  • What to upload: Upload images that represent this particular variant.
  • How to use: You can drag and drop images directly into the box or use the upload button.
  • Tip: Upload images that show the correct color, size, or packaging of the variant, especially if it’s visually different from others.

3. Price & MRP

  • Price: The selling price at which the product will be sold to customers.
  • MRP (Maximum Retail Price): The maximum price printed on the packaging (often higher than the actual selling price).
  • Tip: Always ensure Price ≤ MRP, or the listing might be flagged.

4. Package Weight

  • The weight of the complete package including product + packaging material, in kilograms or grams.
  • Why important: This is crucial for logistics partners to calculate shipping charges accurately.
  • Tip: Use a weighing scale to get the actual shipping-ready package weight.

5. SKU / GTIN / EAN

  • Product identification codes, if available.
    • SKU (Stock Keeping Unit): Internal tracking code used by your warehouse/inventory system.
    • GTIN / EAN: Standardized global product barcodes (like those on retail products).
  • Optional: But highly recommended for inventory tracking and integrations.

6. Product Weight

  • The net weight of the actual product (excluding packaging).
  • Unit: Typically in grams or kilograms.
  • Why it matters: Some platforms or customers prefer knowing actual product weight for bulk orders or custom needs.

7. Package Dimensions

  • Enter the Length, Width, and Height of the complete packaged product.
  • Unit: In centimeters (cm).
  • Tip: Use a measuring tape and always include the full box/package to get accurate values.
  • Why it's needed: Required for estimating volumetric weight in logistics calculations.

8. Min/Max Purchase Limit

  • Min Limit: Minimum quantity the customer can buy per order.
  • Max Limit: Maximum quantity allowed per order.
  • Use case: Useful if you want to sell in bulk or restrict quantity per customer (e.g., in B2B or discounted sales).

9. Standard Package Quantity

  • Set the typical number of units that come in one package.
  • Example: If you sell 1 soap bar in a package, enter 1. If you sell a box of 6, enter 6.

Why important: Helps define packaging norms and is helpful for inventory and shipping.

Attributes

This section allows you to define specific details for each product attribute, making it easier for customers to understand what they're buying.

Here’s a quick explanation of each field:

1. Colour

  • Choose or enter the color (e.g., Red, Blue, Black).
  • Customers often search or filter products by color — it's a key decision factor.

2. Colour Name

  • A friendly or branded name for the color (e.g., Midnight Blue, Rose Gold).
  • This will show up on the product detail page — make it clear and appealing.

3. Warranty

  • Warranty duration or terms (e.g., “1 Year Manufacturer Warranty”).
  • Builds trust with the buyer and is often a required detail on marketplaces.

4. Includes

  • Mention what’s included in the package (e.g., “Phone, Charger, User Manual”).
  • Helps avoid confusion and reduce returns due to missing items.

5. Connectivity

  • Type of connectivity supported (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C).
  • Essential for electronic products — helps buyers choose the right compatibility.

6. Model

  • The product’s model number or name (e.g., “X123 Pro”).
  • Helps customers compare or search for specific models.

7. Brand

  • The brand name (e.g., Samsung, Nike).
  • Crucial for filtering, search, and customer trust — must be accurate.
