Blog Posts
You can use the Blog Posts section to create articles, announcements, or updates for your store’s Help Center or storefront blog. Follow the steps below.
1. Open the Blog Posts Section
- In your Mystore dashboard, go to Storefront from the left menu.
- Click on Blog posts.
- Click the Write blog post button.
You will now see the Add Blog Post page, as shown in Screenshot 1.
2. Fill in Blog Post Details
Below is a clear explanation of each field you see on this page:
- Title
- This is the main headline of your blog post.
- Keep it short and descriptive.
- Example: “How to Track Your Orders”.
- Alias
- A short, URL-friendly version of your title.
- Automatically generated if you leave it blank, but you can customise it.
- Example: track-your-orders.
- Content
- The main body of your post.
- You can use the editor to format text (bold, italics, lists, links, etc.) and insert images or videos.
- Tip: Use headings to make the content easy to read.
- Blog
- Select the blog category this post belongs to (if you have multiple blogs in your store).
- Image
- Upload a featured image for your blog post.
- This image appears in the post listing and at the top of the post.
- Images (Gallery)
- Add additional images to display within the blog post.
- Click Add Record to add more images.
- Author
- Enter the name of the person writing the post.
- This will be displayed to readers.
- Date
- Choose the date for publishing the blog post.
- Tags
- Add relevant keywords for search and filtering.
- Separate tags with commas or press enter after each tag.
- Publish
- Tick this checkbox if you want the post to go live immediately.
- Leave unchecked if you’re saving it as a draft.
3. Configure SEO Settings
Under the SEO section, you can improve how your blog post appears in search engines:
- Title: The title shown in search results (can be different from the blog post title).
- Description: A short summary for search engines.
- Keywords: Add search terms relevant to your post.
- Canonical URL: If this is duplicate content, link to the original URL here.
- Sitemap priority: A value from 0.0 to 1.0 indicating importance (1.0 is highest).
- Sitemap frequency: How often the content changes (e.g., daily, weekly).
- Details for bots: Any specific instructions for web crawlers.
4. Add Metadata
In the Metadata section:
- Category: Assign the blog post to a Help Center or blog category.
- FAQ: Optionally, add related frequently asked questions with answers.
- Updated date: Set a date to show when the article was last updated.
- Show updated date: Tick if you want the update date to appear on the post.
- Products: Link the blog post to specific products (if relevant).
5. Final Steps
- If you want the post to display as a blockquote, tick Use blockquote.
- Set a Sort order if you want to control the order of posts in the list (lower numbers appear first).
- When ready, click Submit at the top right.
